Character sketch
A character sketch, as the term is used with regards to television programs, gives details about the character that help the reader visualize and understand the character's basic biography, motivations, quirks, qualities, and personality. In short, a character sketch is meant to bring the character alive to the reader, to give them, well, character!
There are many ways to write a character sketch. You might choose to write it in a straightforward, descriptive manner. You might choose to tell a story involving the character. Perhaps you will write about what the character does on a typical Saturday morning. Regardless, by the time your reader is done reading your character sketch, they should have a clear image of your character.
